Elon Musk’s Push for Federal Spending Cuts Gains Support Among Democrats

Elon Musk’s campaign to significantly reduce U.S. federal spending is finding unexpected allies in Washington, with several Democrats seeing it as a chance to cut defense budgets and streamline bureaucracy, according to the Financial Times.
Key Democratic figures, including Senators Bernie Sanders and John Fetterman, as well as numerous House representatives, have expressed alignment with Musk’s goals. California Democrat Ro Khanna criticized defense contractors for “fleecing the American people” and voiced optimism about collaborating with Musk to curb “wasteful spending at the Pentagon.”
Musk has warned that the U.S. is on a path to bankruptcy, vowing to slash federal spending by at least $2 trillion. His call for fiscal restraint has sparked bipartisan interest in addressing inefficiencies across government sectors.
