Kremlin Adviser: Several Countries Offer to Host Putin-Trump Talks

Yuri Ushakov, Kremlin’s foreign policy adviser, stated on Monday that several countries have offered to host talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, though he did not reveal their names.
Trump has expressed a desire to quickly end the war in Ukraine, but has not provided specific details on how. Last Thursday, Putin said he is ready for compromise in talks with Trump and has no preconditions for discussions with Ukrainian authorities. However, he insisted that any talks should be based on an initial agreement made early in the war, which has never been fully implemented.
Many Ukrainian politicians view the draft agreement as a potential surrender, skeptical that Putin is willing to reach an acceptable deal for Kyiv. Trump has also criticized the use of U.S. missiles to strike targets inside Russia, signaling a possible shift in U.S. policy on Ukraine.
The international community awaits to see if diplomatic progress will be made between Russia and the U.S. in the coming months.
