US Accuses Russia of Supporting Yemen’s Ansarullah in Arms Transfer

The United States has leveled new accusations against Russia, alleging that Moscow has been engaging with Yemen’s Ansarullah (Houthi movement) to facilitate the transfer of weapons.

These claims were made by US Ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas Greenfield, during her speech on Wednesday, where she stated that disturbing evidence had surfaced indicating Russia’s active role in discussing arms transfers with the Houthis. Greenfield also pointed to reports suggesting that Russian forces have been recruiting Yemenis to participate in the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Greenfield criticized Russia’s actions, accusing the country of pursuing its own political interests, rather than fostering genuine cooperation within the UN Security Council. While making these claims, Greenfield refrained from addressing the US’s own military and financial support for the Zionist entity, which continues its controversial actions in Gaza.

The US envoy also implicated Iran in arming the Houthis, pushing for a stronger UN Monitoring Mechanism to prevent further arms transfers from Tehran to Yemen.

These accusations have been met with skepticism, particularly given Yemen’s repeated statements that their military actions are targeted exclusively at the Zionist entity and its maritime assets, which they view as complicit in the ongoing Zionist genocide in Gaza.

The Yemeni army has made it clear that they will continue to target Zionist-bound vessels in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea as long as the Zionist entity maintains its blockade and continues its offensive in Gaza.

This geopolitical tension highlights the broader international divisions surrounding the conflict in Gaza and the ongoing struggle for regional influence.
