Algerian FM Received by Burundi’s President

Ahmed Attaf, Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nationals Abroad, and African Affairs, was received on Thursday in Bujumbura by the President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye. This meeting took place during his official visit as a special envoy of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, according to a statement from the ministry.

During the visit, “the Minister of State conveyed to President Evariste Ndayishimiye a written message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, along with his fraternal greetings and a desire to continue collaboration to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, cooperation, and solidarity between the two countries,” the statement noted.

The meeting provided an opportunity to “discuss strategies for realizing the shared aspirations of both nations’ leaders to enhance relations between Algeria and Burundi. This includes concrete measures aimed at revitalizing bilateral cooperation and improving joint coordination within the continental organization to address various challenges facing African countries,” the document added.
