Algerian FM Arrives in Burundi as Special Envoy of President Tebboune

In his role as special envoy for President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, State Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf arrived in Bujumbura, Republic of Burundi, on Wednesday evening for an official visit, according to a statement from the ministry.

“This visit aims to strengthen the bonds of fraternity and cooperation between the two countries, as well as to enhance coordination and dialogue on key issues and priorities concerning the continental agenda,” the statement noted.

“The State Minister will be received by the President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, to whom he will convey a letter from his counterpart, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune,” the source added.

Attaf is also scheduled to hold a working session with his Burundian counterpart, Albert Shingiro.
