Spain: Six Migrants Found Dead in Boats Arriving in the Canary Islands

Spanish emergency services reported on Wednesday that six individuals have been found dead aboard several boats that arrived in recent hours off the coast of El Hierro, one of the Canary Islands.
In total, rescue teams assisted four vessels near this island, the smallest in the Spanish archipelago situated off the northwest coast of Africa. One boat successfully reached the port of El Hierro, where the deaths of four people were confirmed. A fifth individual later suffered a cardiac arrest, as noted by emergency service 112 on social media.
The other three boats were intercepted by rescue services off the coast of El Hierro. According to the emergency service, another dead person was found aboard one of these vessels. A spokesperson for 112 clarified that the total number of individuals who were on these boats has not yet been determined.
