Mahieddine Khalef, the former coach of the Algerian national football team, has died at the age of 80, as announced by the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) on its official website.
The federation conveyed its condolences to the family of the deceased, stating: “In light of this significant loss, the president of the Algerian Federation, Walid Sadi, extends his heartfelt sympathies on behalf of himself and the members of his executive board to the family and the entire football community in Algeria, praying that God Almighty grants him mercy and welcomes him into His vast paradise.”
Khalef’s legacy is closely tied to Jeunesse Sportive de Kabylie (JSK), which he guided to numerous titles. He also served on the coaching staff under the late Rachid Makhloufi during the 1982 FIFA World Cup.
