S. African President: “Cooperation with Algeria will strengthen African collaboration”

On Friday, the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, expressed his strong conviction that collaboration between Algeria and South Africa will enhance cooperation across the continent.

In a joint press statement with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, following their discussions at the Presidential Office, President Ramaphosa stated, “We are convinced that cooperation between South Africa and Algeria will bolster African unity.”

“We are very pleased with the partnership between our two nations and aim to elevate the level of trade exchanges, which will be further strengthened by the launch of a free trade zone between our countries,” he added, emphasizing that “the South African people extend their gratitude to Algeria” for its support during their struggle and for hosting leader Nelson Mandela.

In this context, Ramaphosa expressed his desire to “deepen the historical ties between the two nations,” thanking the President of Algeria for the warm welcome he received.

On the international stage, the South African President condemned “the disregard for international law,” recalling his country’s complaint against the Zionist entity for war crimes committed in Gaza. He affirmed that he has received “significant support from many countries” regarding this matter.

“We demand respect for international law in Palestine and stand in solidarity with all oppressed peoples,” he asserted.
