F1: Charles and Arthur Leclerc Make History as the First Brothers to Race Together

Charles Leclerc is set to share the track with his younger brother, Arthur Leclerc, as they make history in Formula 1. Arthur will take part in the first practice session of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this Friday, marking the first time in F1 history that brothers will race together for the same team.

Arthur, 24, will drive for Ferrari alongside Charles, taking over Carlos Sainz’s car for the session. This marks a significant milestone as the Leclerc brothers become the first siblings to compete for the same F1 team. While Charles is already a well-established figure in Formula 1, Arthur is still working his way up, having climbed the motorsport ladder through Formula 4, Formula 3, Formula E testing, and Formula 2.

This season, Arthur has been serving as a development driver for Ferrari, a role similar to what Charles had before becoming a full-time F1 driver. Though Arthur has yet to make his official F1 debut, he will be behind the wheel of Ferrari’s SF24 for next week’s winter tests.

The FIA’s requirement for teams to field at least one rookie driver twice a season has given Arthur the opportunity to join his brother in F1. With Ferrari battling McLaren for the constructors’ championship, Arthur will need to deliver a strong and informative performance during this practice session to contribute to the team’s success.
