UNICEF Urges Urgent Medical Evacuation for 2,500 Children in Gaza Strip

UNICEF has called for the urgent medical evacuation of 2,500 children in the Gaza Strip amid worsening conditions. The humanitarian agency’s spokesperson, Kazem Abu Khalaf, described the situation in northern Gaza as “extremely difficult and tragic,” with the crisis continuing to escalate. He highlighted that 30% of children in the region are suffering from severe malnutrition.
In addition, Abu Khalaf reported that 95% of schools sheltering displaced people in Gaza have been completely destroyed, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. The urgent need for medical evacuations comes as the region struggles to cope with ongoing violence and a collapsing healthcare infrastructure.
