Algeria and Egypt Strengthen Infrastructure Ties with Key Meeting

In a testament to their enduring partnership, Algeria’s Minister of Public Works, Lakhdar Rakhroukh, hosted Egypt’s Ambassador to Algeria, Mokhtar Gamil Tawfik Warida, and representatives from the Egyptian company “Arab Contractors” on November 27, 2024. The discussions, aligned with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s recent visit to Egypt, emphasized cooperation in infrastructure development, particularly in railways and guided transportation systems.
Both sides highlighted their countries’ historic ties and pledged to expand collaboration. Minister Rakhroukh showcased Algeria’s expertise in large-scale infrastructure projects, while Ambassador Warida praised these achievements and expressed Egypt’s interest in joint ventures. He proposed a consortium between Algerian and Egyptian firms to pursue regional and international projects.
The meeting concluded with agreements to enhance technical exchanges and foster joint investments, underscoring both nations’ ambitions to shape the region’s infrastructure future through mutual expertise and shared goals.
