Pakistan: 38 Killed In Deadly Attack On Passenger Vans

At least 38 people, including women and children, were killed on Thursday in the latest wave of violence that has plagued northwestern Pakistan.
The attacks took place in the Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which shares a border with Afghanistan, according to Javed Ullah Mehsud, a local administration official. He reported 38 fatalities and 11 injuries.
“Approximately ten assailants fired indiscriminately from both sides of the street,” he added.
A police officer corroborated the casualty figures to the media, noting that some officers were among the deceased.
In response to the attack on “a convoy of innocent citizens,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned it as an act of pure brutality.
