Rwanda: Soldier Kills Five Civilians

A Rwandan soldier opened fire on Wednesday in the southwestern region of the country, resulting in the deaths of five civilians, according to military sources.
The motive for the shooting, which took place early in the morning in the Nyamasheke district, remains unclear. However, the Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) have identified the shooter as a 39-year-old sergeant.
“The RDF has apprehended the suspect and will take the necessary legal action against him,” stated the military in a press release from this East African nation.
