Nigeria: 50 Daesh-affiliated Terrorists Eliminated in the Northeast (Military)

This week, approximately 50 terrorists associated with the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS/Daesh) were neutralized in Borno State, northeastern Nigeria, according to a statement from the Nigerian Air Force released on Wednesday.

In a communiqué reported by various media outlets, Nigerian Air Force spokesperson Olusola Akinboyewa confirmed that “50 terrorists, including their leader Bashir Dauda, were neutralized during operations that commenced on October 31 against three Daesh facilities in Borno State.”

The military official added that “depots belonging to the terrorist organization were destroyed during these operations.”

Nigeria has long been contending with attacks from terrorist groups, including Boko Haram and the West African branch of the Daesh organization, across various regions of the country.
