Somalia: 27 Al-Shabaab Terrorists Neutralized in Military Operation
Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has reported the neutralization of 27 members of the terrorist group Al-Shabaab during a military operation in the southern region of the country, as stated by local media outlets.
The agency indicated that this operation specifically targeted several leaders of the group, which is affiliated with the Al-Qaeda network, in the Yaagle area of Middle Shabelle.
NISA’s statement also revealed that numerous terrorists sustained injuries during the over 12-hour-long offensive.
Somali forces successfully destroyed multiple military vehicles and a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition belonging to Al-Shabaab.
“This operation marks a significant advancement in Somalia’s efforts to combat terrorism and demonstrates the authorities’ commitment to eliminating any threats to the nation’s stability and peace,” NISA asserted.
