Boughali explores e-voting system during Korean National Assembly visit

ALGIERS – The Speaker of theAlgerian People’s National Assembly (lower house of Parliament), Brahim Boughali, paid a visit on Wednesday to the headquarters of South Korea’s National Assembly in Seoul, exploring the mechanisms of the electronic voting system, the lower house said in a press release.

The statement noted that the Speaker of the lower house and his accompanying delegation “were warmly received at the headquarters of the Korean National Assembly, as part of the visit he is making, which came at the invitation of Korean Assembly Speaker Woo Won Shik,” the statement said.

Boughali “visited the structures of South Korea’s National Assembly, including the chamber where he learned about the electronic voting procedures, the system governing it, the dissemination of results via networks, and the organization of public attendance during open sessions.”

At a luncheon held in his honor by the Assembly, Boughali stated that this visit would “pave the way for a sustainable long-term partnership” between the two countries.

He underscored “the commitment and willingness to develop and activate the dynamic of existing partnership between the two legislative institutions to promote them in service of the interests of both countries and friendly peoples.”
