Algeria : Hydrocarbon Production to Increase by 2.5% in 2025

Algeria’s primary hydrocarbon production is set to see a 2.5% boost in 2025, with output expected to reach approximately 206 million tons of oil equivalent (TOE), according to Mohamed Arkab, the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines. This announcement, made on Wednesday, reflects Algeria’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its position in the global energy market and capitalize on its rich natural resources. The country aims to expand production to meet both domestic demand and export commitments.

The forecasted increase comes at a time when global energy markets are in flux, with fluctuating oil prices and rising demand for natural gas. Arkab’s announcement is part of Algeria’s broader strategy to enhance its energy sector, which includes investment in infrastructure, new exploration projects, and technological advancements in oil and gas extraction. Additionally, Algeria has been working to diversify its energy portfolio by gradually integrating renewable energy sources particulary green hydrogen.
