UK: Birmingham Airport Evacuated Due to Suspicious Vehicle

Birmingham Airport, situated in central England, is currently undergoing evacuation following reports of a suspicious vehicle, according to a statement from local police on Wednesday.
“The police are on-site managing the incident,” the airport announced via social media, adding that all flights have been suspended.
“It is advised that passengers refrain from coming to the airport at this time,” the announcement further stated.
This evacuation has been implemented as a “precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers and staff,” police clarified.
On social media, individuals have reported being stranded aboard grounded planes, while images show crowds gathered outside the terminal building.
In September, a restricted area of Birmingham Airport—the UK’s second most populous city—was evacuated due to police checks related to another “incident.”
