Algeria: ANPDP Signs Cooperation Agreement with Its Mauritanian Counterpart

A cooperation agreement was signed on Tuesday in Algiers between the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data (ANPDP) and its Mauritanian counterpart. The agreement aims to enhance collaboration in training and the exchange of expertise.
The signing took place between ANPDP President Samir Bourehil and Mohamed el Amine Ould Sidi, President of the Personal Data Protection Authority of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. They were joined by Minister of Post and Telecommunications Karim Bibi Triki, along with representatives from relevant agencies and sectors.
During the ceremony, Bourehil remarked that this agreement is part of an effort to “develop effective bilateral cooperation for sharing experiences and expertise in personal data protection.”
He also highlighted the “specific interest demonstrated by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in promoting bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Mauritania,” noting the frequency and significance of visits exchanged between both parties.
In his address, Mohamed El Amine Ould Sidi emphasized that “multilateral cooperation, rooted in the historic fraternal ties between the two countries, has experienced remarkable growth in recent years due to the political will of their leaders.” He underscored the importance of this agreement, which seeks to “strengthen the exchange of expertise between the two authorities in the area of personal data protection.”
