Hurricane Helene Claims 201 Lives Across Southeastern US

Hurricane Helene has claimed at least 201 lives in the southeastern United States, as reported on Thursday by local authorities. Of these fatalities, North Carolina accounted for 100 deaths, while South Carolina reported 41, Georgia 33, Florida 14, Tennessee 11, and Virginia two.
Consequently, Helene is now the second deadliest hurricane to impact the United States in over fifty years, following Hurricane Katrina in 2005
