British PM Congratulates President Tebboune on His Re-election

The British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, extended his congratulations to the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on the occasion of his re-election for a second term, as announced in a communiqué from the presidency released today, Wednesday.

The statement noted: “The British Prime Minister, Mr. Keir Starmer, has sent a message of congratulations to Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune on his re-election as President of the Republic.”

In his message, Starmer emphasized that the United Kingdom and Algeria “share a relationship founded on common priorities, and I look forward to closer cooperation in the future, given the potential of both countries.”

He also expressed his enthusiasm for enhancing trade relations, highlighting the President’s commitment to promoting foreign direct investment as one of his economic priorities. He affirmed that “the United Kingdom is prepared to invest in Algeria and to develop our trade exchanges.”

The British Prime Minister concluded by stating, “While I appreciate your expertise in striving for security and stability in the Sahel, I am eager to establish a robust strategy, share concerns, and collaborate with you, wishing you every success in your second term.”
