New Explosions Erupt at Beirut Funeral for Hezbollah Members Killed in Pager Attack

BEIRUT – Multiple explosions erupted Wednesday during a funeral for three Hezbollah members and a child who were killed in a pager attack the previous day. The blasts occurred at the funeral site, as reported by Associated Press journalists on the ground. Hezbollah’s Al Manar TV confirmed explosions in various parts of Lebanon, adding to the chaos following Tuesday’s deadly attack.
A Hezbollah official, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that walkie-talkies used by the group had exploded, contributing to the blasts heard in Beirut. However, no immediate information on casualties from the latest explosions was available at the time.
The incident follows Tuesday’s coordinated pager bombings, which targeted Hezbollah members in Lebanon and Syria, killing at least 12 people, including two children, and wounding approximately 2,800. The attack, believed to be a sophisticated Zionist operation, has left Lebanon reeling, fueling confusion and anger across the country.
