UN Geneva : Algeria Urges Action in Response to UN Human Rights Report.

At the UN session in Geneva, Algeria’s Permanent Representative, Rachid Bladahan, addressed key human rights and regional issues, highlighting the nation’s ongoing reforms and commitments. He emphasized Algeria’s progress in enhancing civil liberties and social rights while condemning the rising tide of hate speech globally. Bladahan also spoke out against recent defamatory attacks on Algerian athlete Iman Khelif, underscoring the importance of safeguarding individuals from discrimination and slander.
Bladahan also strongly condemned the actions of the Zionist entity against Palestinians, calling them severe violations of international law and human rights. He urged the international community to take swift and decisive action to protect Palestinian lives and uphold justice in the region. Bladahan reaffirmed Algeria’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, advocating for sustained global pressure to halt the ongoing aggression.
In addition to Palestine, Bladahan raised concerns about the decolonization process of Western Sahara, stressing the need for an expedited resolution. He criticized the slow pace of the international community’s response and called for renewed efforts to ensure the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination is respected. Algeria remains firm in its commitment to regional stability and the protection of human rights across its borders.
