Algeria’s Presidential Elections: Voter Turnout Reaches 26.46% by 5 PM

The Independent National Electoral Authority in Algeria has reported an increase in voter turnout for the early presidential elections, both among voters within the country and among the Algerian diaspora abroad, as of 5 PM (Algerian time) today, Saturday.
In his second statement regarding voter participation in the Algerian presidential elections, the head of the authority, Mohamed Chorfi, announced that the number of voters had reached 5,142,134 by 5 PM Algerian time. This figure represents a voting percentage of 26.46% of the total local electorate, which consists of 23,486,061 registered voters.
In this presidential election, three candidates are vying for the position: Youcef Aouchiche from the Front of Socialist Forces, independent candidate Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and Abdelali Hassani Cherif from the Movement of Society for Peace.
