ALGIERS – The annual production capacity of Algeria’s national photovoltaic industry saw a significant increase of 35% in 2023. The capacity reached 469 megawatts (MW), up from 346 MW in 2022. This substantial growth reflects a continued commitment to expanding renewable energy resources in the country.
The data, released by the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Commission (CEREFE), highlights the progress made in the photovoltaic sector. The increase in production capacity underscores Algeria’s efforts to enhance its renewable energy infrastructure and advance toward its energy efficiency goals.
