Algeria’s Presidential Election : Candidate Aouchiche Promises Key Measures to Revitalize the Economy

Youcef Aouchiche, the Socialist Forces Front candidate for the upcoming presidential election, has pledged to implement a series of significant measures aimed at revitalizing Algeria’s economy. Speaking on the “Presidential Election Forum,” an Algerian radio broadcast, Aouchiche outlined his plans to harness the potential and assets of each region to bolster the industrial sector. He proposed creating integrated economic centers tailored to regional specifics to stimulate local initiatives and attract investment.

Aouchiche’s election program focuses on enhancing the economic sector by developing the manufacturing, tourism, and agricultural industries. He emphasized plans to achieve self-sufficiency in key areas, particularly cereals, by expanding the land area under cultivation. Additionally, he committed to improving living conditions and the social system by raising the national minimum wage, providing income support for vulnerable groups, increasing family allowances, and establishing a comprehensive social protection system.

On social and foreign policy, Aouchiche promised to cap prices, protect purchasing power, and restore the middle class. He also pledged to initiate political and institutional reforms, including the separation of powers and increased public involvement in managing public affairs. Internationally, Aouchiche committed to supporting just causes, notably the Palestinian and Sahrawi issues, and focusing on strengthening relations with the African continent as Algeria’s strategic depth.
