Attaf Receives a Phone Call from his UK Counterpart

This evening, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received a phone call from the UK’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs, Mr. David Lammy.

Their discussions centered on Algerian-British relations as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Both ministers praised the excellent level of relations between Algeria and the UK, especially in the trade and investment sectors. They agreed to implement several measures to maintain the growing momentum of bilateral cooperation, notably by holding the third session of the Strategic Dialogue soon in Algeria under the leadership of both countries’ foreign ministers.

On political matters, the ministers exchanged views and analyses regarding recent developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and surrounding regions. They emphasized that achieving a permanent ceasefire in Gaza is crucial for any efforts aimed at de-escalation and reducing tensions in the Middle East. Additionally, they reviewed political and security developments in the Sahel-Saharan region and discussed ways to enhance peace, security, and development there.
