Situation in Libya : Algeria calls on the Libyan parties to exercise “wisdom” and “restraint”

Algeria “fully” shares the concerns voiced by the United Nations regarding the recent mobilization of forces in various regions of Libya, calling on the Libyan parties to exercise “wisdom and restraint,” said the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.

“Algeria fully shares the concerns expressed by the United Nations regarding the recent mobilization of forces in various regions of Libya, particularly the southern and western regions,” added the statement.

“Under the numerous and complex barriers that are still thwarting a peaceful settlement to the serious crisis haunting this brotherly country, the cessation of clashes and confrontations thus becomes a precious achievement that must be preserved at all costs,” continues the same source.

“Consequently, Algeria calls on all Libyan parties to exercise wisdom and restraint to spare their country and their people the tragic repercussions entailing a resumption of clashes, which will sacrifice their goals to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis, inter-Libyan reconciliation, the reunification of institutions, particularly the security ones, the cessation of foreign interference and embarking upon a new era of stability and prosperity in Libya,” assures the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
