Imane Khelif Forces Italian Rival to Surrender in Just 46 Seconds!

Algerian boxer Imane Khelif (66 kg) has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2024 Paris Olympic boxing tournament. She earned her place by defeating Italian Angela Carini on Thursday at the Arena Paris Nord.
The 25-year-old Algerian, who was the runner-up in the 2022 World Championships, overwhelmed Carini, leading to the Italian’s withdrawal just 46 seconds into the fight. Khelif will face the winner of the match between Australian Marissa Williamson and Hungarian Anna Luca Hamori, which takes place this afternoon at 3:18 PM Algerian time, in the quarterfinals scheduled for Saturday.
Hailing from Tiaret, Khelif is participating in her second Olympic Games and boasts a record of 50 fights with 37 victories and nine defeats. Her opponent, Angela Carini, also 25 years old, has a record of 106 fights, with 84 wins and 22 losses.
Additionally, another Algerian boxer, Boualem Roumaïssa, 28 years old, is set to compete against Philippine Aira Villegas at 3:15 PM Algerian time in the round of 16 for the under-50 kg category.
