Kamala Harris secures more delegate endorsements

Kamala Harris, who was endorsed by President Joe Biden minutes after his withdrawal announcement, started securing more delegate endorsements, and reached 2,214 at least, among which are California Governor Gavin Newsom and House Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi.
Additionally, The AFL-CIO, a union composed of 60 unions and 12.5 million workers, making it a major Democratic constituency and a key player in swing states including Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, unanimously endorsed Harris for president.
The Democratic Party plans to hold a virtual roll call to select a presidential nominee before they meet in Chicago next month. According to the National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison, the roll call will be completed by Aug. 7, during which “candidates will need 300 electronic signatures of support from convention delegates.”
