Donald Trump holds first rally after assassination attempt

A week after an attempt on his life, Trump holded on Saturday his first rally in Grand Rapids stage, Michigan, alongside his new running mate, JD Vance. In an extremely secured environment, almost all Van Andel Arena seats were filled with his supporters who wore “Make America Great Again” hats and shirts with the picture of Trump’s fist in the air.

In a speech that lasted over an hour, Trump mentioned the conflicts within the Democratic party, saying that “the Democratic Party is not the party of democracy,” and that he “took a bullet for Democracy.”

His new running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, took his share of addressing the audience, during which he criticised Vice President Kamala Harris.

Donald Trump’s campaign released a letter on his injury state, noting that only the external ear is affected and the brain is safe.

In an interview later with Fox News, Trump stated he was unaware that law enforcement had identified a suspicious person when he took the stage last week at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, adding “How did somebody get on that roof ? And why wasn’t he reported ? Because people saw that he was on the roof.”
